Our philosophy
Inviting, inspirational spaces and friendly, approachable staff - once discovered, The Lavender Tree is never forgotten. We have sought out the best in quality, timeless designs and craftsmanship, and now have a memorable interiors collection which is instantly familiar to anyone who knows us.
Our story began more than fifteen years ago when interiors stylist, Sarah McCall, added gifts and accessories to her freelance design portfolio. Her eye for timeless design, quality, witty and original gifts soon lead to more commissions and the idea for The Lavender Tree grew from there.
A few years later, Sarah was joined by sister, Emma Bolton, and our dreams for The Lavender Tree took shape. Emma, who had held several demanding positions in the fashion industry, brought her buying expertise, her energy and love of fabrics, pattern and colour to our growing business.
Together we found the ideal base for our shop – a lovely old Victorian shop just a mile from the centre of Alderley Edge. It was fate. Just as The Lavender Tree grew, our reputation and media coverage ensured that customers from all parts of the country visited our lovely shop in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. We have built The Lavender Tree into an ever changing source of furnishing ideas and accessories for the whole home and created a successful online store and interiors consultancy.
Our own distinctive style draws on a traditional English country house theme with complementary French and Scandinavian influences. We search constantly for new furnishings, accessories and trends for our shops and to add value to our design consultancy. With the help of our suppliers, mainly small businesses and craftspeople who share our values and our style savvy friends – and now trusted advisers as well - we continue to stay ahead of changing styles and new home furnishing ideas.
Today, we deliver to customers across the UK and beyond. Our work features in magazine articles and we are a favourite with interior designers and celebrities.
